Special Effects Genius - Stan Winston - Dies At 62

Stan Winston has won Oscars for the special effects that he has designed and has brought to life in some of the biggest films like “Jurassic Park” where he brought life size dinosaurs to life. He died this week in his home in Malibua at the age of 62. A family relative said that he had been fighting myeloma for seven years.

Winston has worked with some of the most famous directors that include; Tim Burton, Steven Spielberg, and James Cameron in his long career that lasted four decades.

Winston created some of the most memorable visual effects in cinematic history. He helped bring the dinosaurs from “Jurassic Park,” the extraterrestrials from “Aliens, the robots from “Terminator” and even “Edward Scissorhands” to the big screen, and was a pioneer in merging real-world effects with computer imaging.
