Jack Black Backs Out Of New Comedy Role
Jack Black has backed out of the supernatural comedy film “Man-Witch”. He was set to play the title role – which he accepted in 2007. It would have been the first time that Black would have worked together with Todd Phillips – the man who has released such movies as “Borat” and “Old School”.
“Man-Witch” centers on a man who discovers he’s a witch and heads off to teach at a female witch school; Phillips is set to produce and, likely, to direct the Warner Brothers project.
According to sources – Jack Black backed out of the film because he was worried about the commitment that Phillip’s would have to direct the film “Hangover”. Jack Black is said to be working on this one as well. Warners said that Jack Black has declined to play in the new comedian – but would not give us anymore details.
The actor’s departure has not affected the status of the movie, which remains in active development. Warners and Phillips are said to be combing a list of stars to replace the funnyman.
