“Bangkok Dangerous” Slides Into #1 Spot Despite Poor Numbers
Summer is over and it is beginning to show in the low numbers that came out of the box office this weekend. Nicolas Cage’s new thriller “Bangkok Dangerous” made the number one spot with only $7.8 million - which is a very low number and not that impressive.
The weekend box office gross was supposed to reach $66 million - which is the lowest amount since the $59.5 million which was recorded in September 21st, 2001. “We had no strong holdover from Labor Day Weekend to boost the box office,” said Paul Dergarabedian, president of Media by Numbers.
