‘30 Days Of Night’ Is Not Ideal Vampire Movie

With Halloween coming up you can expect many scary movie including the new “30 Days of Night” starring Josh Hartnett. Every vampire movie shows itself to be different than the one before it and this one is no exception.

Based on a 2001 graphic novel, “30 Days” is a proficient, atmospheric fangfest that does nothing you haven’t seen before but still does it passably well. It’ll freak out teenage first-timers, even if wizened gorehounds who know their vampire-movie history will stick with 1987’s “Near Dark,” still the final word in postmodern Nosferatus.

‘Star Trek’ Is Coming Back

Get ready to polish your phasers off because Star Trek is coming back. That’s right, all the great characters and the famous Enterprise is making a come-back. Everything will look familiar except the usual actors. Chris Pine will play the young James Kirk, while Karl Urban (’Lord of the Rings’) will take on the role of Dr. Leonard McCoy.

Affleck Shows Potential In ‘Gone Baby Gone’

Ben Affleck may not always be a strong actor, but when it comes to directing a film he does an amazing job. In his directing debut, Affleck has found an avenue for using his obvious intelligence. Co-writing the script with longtime friend Aaron Stockard, Affleck presents a place filled with atmosphere and rich, complicated characters. He has enough confidence in himself never to go for the safe, easy answer.

Critics Tear Down ‘The Heartbreak Kid’

Ben Stiller and the Farrelly Brothers were reunited, much to the delight of audiences, for the new comedy “The Heartbreak Kid”. It made $14 million at box offices putting itself in the second place stop right before “The Game Plan”, which seems to be the top choice for its second week in a row.
